Don’t you just love it when you have crates and crates of old school drum n bass that needs a good dusting. Then you decide to crank up the volume and play two and a half hours of D n’B until the early hours. Well this is what that would probably sound like. Mixed by Joe Roberts and Bernie Steer…. (mainly Joe)
Ah, the 60th Nomad. In this episode, we have a selection of heavy bass stupidity stunningly crafted by Kane and Bernie. ….well, perhaps not stunningly as we actually had to do some mixing ourselves, with ears (oh, the humanity), but there’s good tunes aplenty all the same. So good in fact, that the picture opposite is what happens to your chairs when you listen to this. Yes, so good your ACTUAL FURNITURE starts skanking. Anyway, lock up your small pets and place ear protection on your children, for it is time for Ultimate Bangers Volume 666!
Bernie & Kane go back to back on this hour and a bit of old Funk & Soul corkers. Corkers? Surely there is a cooler word for it than that. Anyway, check the selection! There’s a good helping of cheese (as Funk requires) from the likes of Slave and Garry Criss, along with meaty goodness from funk masters like Curtis Mayfield and Atmosfear. The latter we mistakenly name-check as Manzel, but that’s a drop in the ocean compared to some of the other shit I come out with inbetween songs. I am so, so sorry. 😉
Staring at clocks makes time go slow as many of you with a 9-5 know so very well, so don’t do it! It’s also not healthy. Instead make time melt away with this mixed bag of chilled and uplifting tunes. Time travel couldn’t be simpler.
The first hour warm up set from slade hall 2013. Bernie & Si play back to back.
Ever been to South America or Africa? Well you don’t have to. Get yourself a bowl full of rice and baked beans and prepare to be sonically transported with this cracking selection of afrobeat, salsa, jazz, peruvian and african funk mix by Jack newton & Bernie Steer. Infused with all sorts of goodness. Enjoy!
Simon P Scarlett & Bernie Steer play a mixed bag of chilled & groovy tunes to mark the end of an amazing spell of sunny weather. Now it’s time to give your fireplace a good dusting, sit back with a brew and toast your toes by the fire whilst listening to this mixed bag selection that’ll transport you back to the good times you’ve just had in the past few months. Enjoy!
Bernard Steer comes with an excellent summer time Reggae selection. Given that it’s actually been fully sunny for multiple days in Manchester, this seems highly appropriate!
You know on Christmas Eve, how you’re meant to leave an E, a bottle of water and some weed on the table for Santa? Exactly. That’s why this mix is the most Christmas you will feel all Christmas. 100% heavy drum and bass. 0% Cliff Richard. Happy holidays from Nomad Radio and BitCollider!
